Origin and Constitution
Centre for Resources Development Studies, is a non- governmental secular, charitable, non- profitable voluntary organization working for the welfare of women, children, rural and weaker section of the society from the date of registration under society registration adhiniyam 1973.
The society was established in 1996 by a group of professionals specializing in Economics, Regional Planning, Management, Marketing, Market Research, Demography, Gender and Resource Management.
All the persons engaged with the organization are working hard for the welfare of target groups so that their living standards can be improved and they can sustain their life by gaining new opportunity in life. The organization comprises of a team of devoted, skilled and knowledgeable persons whom have helped the organization in achieving its goal.
Mission
CRDS’s mission is to assist people from the most marginalized communities to gain control over natural resources such as land, water and forest. It also works to train people in effective resource management so that they may strike a balance between consumption and regeneration. The organization has the main goal of promoting a process of sustainable development through an approach of participatory planning and management.
Objectives
The objectives of the organizations are as follows:
vTo undertake research, publication, seminars, workshops, awareness and campaign on issues of management, conservation and preservation of resources.
vTo promote economic development of village communities especially SC, ST, Minorities and OBC (through intervening in the sectors of agriculture, animal husbandry, rural industries, rural technologies, handicrafts and infrastructure etc.)
vTo strengthen the process of human resource development (women empowerment, community health, literacy and education, spiritual and cultural awakening, moral values, and skill development of the marginalized )
vTo restore ecological balance in the rural environment (forest and wild life conservation, water resources, pasture lands, agricultural and other waste lands etc.)
vTo support implementation of all schemes and programmes for the rural and urban development of the government and
vTo monitor and evaluate the various schemes and programmes of the government.
vTo distribute food, clothes, medicine among the needy people for social cause.
