(Apr 11 , 12:02 AM)GWALIOR: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi wooed Gwalior with his two-hour road show on Thursday evening. Sitting atop a black Tata Safari with the Congress candidate Ashok Singh, he asked for votes. Giving a tough fight to Singh is BJP state president Narendra Singh Tomar.
SPG commandos had a tough time controlling the crowd as Rahul reached out to people to shake hands and accept garlands.
He touched down at Gwalior airport around 5 pm. As the black Safari zipped into the city, RaGa was initially sitting on the front seat while Congress candidate Ashok Singh was at the rear.
Soon, he realised the road show was lacking people's connect. He took a dramatic decision. He climbed to the roof of the SUV along with the party candidate.
There was a huge crowd on both sides of the road at No. 7 chouraha at Morar. The SUV carrying him went around Kumarpura, Thatipur, Gandhi Road, Padav Phoolbagh, Jayendraganj, Linderganj Square and Daal Bazar where he waved the traders. He also touched Lashkar, Kampoo, Maharajbada, Sarrafa, Gasht Ka Tazia and Shinde kee Chavni. He covered all the three Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Gwalior city. All through his road show, he waved and pleaded with voters to support the Congress. He left for Delhi at 7 pm.
